Marketplaces and shop platforms now build AI into their own seller tools. That's usually the cheapest place to start, because it's included in what you already pay for. Independent tools then fill gaps such as keyword research and product photos.
Amazon: AI listing tools in Seller Central
Amazon says sellers can provide a few words, a product image or a URL from their own website, and its optional generative AI tools will draft listing details such as the title, bullet points and description. You can also upload a spreadsheet to create draft listings in bulk, which you review and edit before publishing. Brands can use AI to help create A+ Content.
Amazon is clear that the AI content is optional and that you're responsible for checking it's accurate and complies with Amazon's policies before you submit it.
Amazon Seller Central selling plans on Amazon.com: Individual $0.99/item sold · Professional $39.99/month (USD), plus referral fees. Other Amazon marketplaces publish their own fees.
Shopify: Sidekick and built-in AI features
Shopify's Help Center describes Sidekick, an AI assistant in the Shopify admin that can write product descriptions, blog posts and store pages, and help you complete tasks. Shopify says many of its other admin AI features are available at no additional cost, though availability varies by plan, device and language. It also lists Tinker, a free mobile app with AI tools for product images and videos.
Shopify's own advice: AI outputs can contain errors, so review anything a tool creates or changes. Shopify pricing: Basic $29/month billed annually ($39 monthly, USD).
Etsy: research and photo tools
For Etsy, the most useful AI-adjacent tools are for keyword research and photos:
- eRank: keyword research for Etsy listings, with a free plan (paid plans from Basic $5.99/month, USD). eRank is an independent company, not part of Etsy.
- Photoroom and Pixelcut: background removal and clean, consistent product shots. Pixelcut has a free plan.
- Canva: banners, shop graphics and social posts; free plan available.
Amazon research tools
Helium 10 combines Amazon keyword research with an AI Listing Builder. Pricing: Platinum $99/month billed annually ($129 monthly, USD). It's independent software and isn't affiliated with Amazon.
General AI assistants for listings
ChatGPT or Claude can turn your notes on materials, sizes and care instructions into a first draft. Then edit it yourself:
- Check every measurement, material and claim. Don't let AI invent features.
- Follow each marketplace's own title, keyword and listing rules.
- Don't copy other sellers' listings or photos.
